Handball

Handball

Handball is a team sport where two teams of seven players compete with a ball used in their hands in accordance with several rules on a rectangular field of dimensions 40 × 20 m, separated into two camps. The team declared victorious is the one that has scored the most goals at the end of the allotted time, i.e. two periods of 30 minutes (or less in the youth categories) or even possible extra time. Today mainly played in a seven-player gymnasium (six outfield players and a goalkeeper), there are also outdoor versions: eleven-a-side handball, a historical version played on grass with eleven players until the 1960s, and beach handball, played on sand with four players and created at the beginning of the twenty-first century.
