Physical description
Although we don't know exactly what materials this hood is made of, we find this fabric that oscillates from gray to white, very volatile. This hood perfectly covers the torchbearer, it covers him in order to leave doubt as to his identity. It is placed under his clothes, it adjusts thanks to elastic straps on the sides as well as buttons. This hood belongs to a set of pieces that together make up the costume of the masked flamebearer. The inside label does not tell us who this hood is assigned to. So it's probably a "backup" hood. This hood was worn by Maxence de Schrooder during the painting alongside the Republican Guard.

Maxence Schrooder dons the costume of the masked torchbearer on the Pont des Arts, alongside the Republican Guard. He is the one who lights up the Institut de France with the flame. The character of the masked torchbearer accompanied all the scenes of this Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. It was a common thread. Many viewers wondered who could be hiding under the mask of the flame bearer. In reality, nine of them have played this role, among them: Simon Nogueira, Lilou Ruel, Caryl Cordt-Moller, Maxence de Schrooder, Guillaume Larrazabal and Maxime Renaud.
