It was worn by one of the members of the group Gojira during their performance at the Conciergerie, during the painting "Freedom". The Freedom tableau of the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games opens with the masked torchbearer, he plunges into the bowels of the Théâtre du Chatelet to take part in the painting "Liberty Leading the People" by Eugène Delacroix, at the heart of an excerpt from the musical Les Misérables, based on Victor Hugo's masterpiece. Having finally arrived in front of the Conciergerie, a red Marie Antoinette, her head in her hands, sings "Ah! It'll be fine! ", Revolutionary song, composed in 1790, on the occasion of the first celebration of 14 July, at the time called the Fête de la Fédération. The painting Liberty obviously evokes the French Revolution. At the windows of this concierge service are a multitude of Marie-Antoinettes. Higher up, we find the members of the group Gojira who take over the musical relay once Marie-Antoinette has finished her chorus. Gojira was the first metal band to play at an opening ceremony.
