De Gaulle Charles
Charles de Gaulle (22 November 1890 – 9 November 1970) was a French soldier, resistance fighter, statesman and writer. During World War II, Charles de Gaulle founded Free France; at the Liberation, he presided over the provisional government from 1944 to 1946. Instigator of the Fifth Republic, he was its first president from January 8, 1959 to April 28, 1969.
