Gojirap

Gojira is a French metal band from Ondres, in the Landes. It was initially formed in 1996 as Godzilla, then adopted the name Gojira in 2001. The band is composed of four members: Joseph Duplantier (vocals and guitar) and his brother Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (guitar) and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass). Since its formation, Gojira has released a total of seven studio albums and three live DVDs. Associated with technical death metal as well as progressive metal, Gojira stands out in the metal scene for the ecological and spiritual sensibility of their songs. On July 26, 2024, the group, associated with opera singer Marina Viotti, performed a version of the revolutionary song Ah! it will be at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics, held on the façade of the Conciergerie de Paris.
